Belgrade, Serbia (Horn Observer) :- Foreign Ministers of Somalia and Serbia held on Tuesday telephone conversation to strengthen bileratal ties in the field of international politics, security, economy and technology, a statement from Somalia’s Embassy in Belgrade said..
The two Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ambassador Marko Djuric, discussed enhancing bilateral bilateral relations of the two countries, especially in the security sector, economy and technology.

Somalia and Serbia have been friendly relations for over 65 years as Somalia reitrates its commitment to giving priority to long standing friendships.

“We will strengthen and enhance our mutual relations,” Ambassador Ahmed Fiqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia said .

On his side, Ambassador Marko Djuric, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, praised the progress made in diplomacy and neutral politics by the Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia in addressing conflicting interests in international forums.

“Somalia has always been a special friend to us and we believe we can do a lot together,” Marko Djuric said.

Serbia supports training of Somalia’s police forces enabling young officers in enhancing their professional skills in preventing crime, organized crime, and maintaining law and order.
