Mogadishu, Somalia – President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, officially received the newly appointed British Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Charles King, on Tuesday at the Villa Somalia Presidential Palace in Mogadishu.
During the meeting, Ambassador King formally presented his Letters of Credence to President Mohamud, officially commencing his diplomatic mission in Somalia. The ceremony marks an important moment in the enduring relationship between the two nations, underscoring a shared commitment to continued partnership and dialogue.
Following the credential presentation, the two leaders held in-depth discussions aimed at strengthening the historic and strategic ties between Somalia and the United Kingdom. Their conversation centered on advancing mutual cooperation in a range of key sectors, including economic development, public service delivery, education, climate resilience, and security.
President Mohamud welcomed Ambassador King and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations.
