SFF Opens Second Youth Development Centre in Kismayo

Kismayo (Somalia Bulletin) – The Somali Football Federation (SFF) has inaugurated a new youth development centre in Kismayo, following the success of a similar facility in Baidoa. This initiative is part of SFF’s nationwide plan to nurture young football talent.

“Our goal is to develop football across all regions, and this centre brings us closer to that vision,” said SFF Senior Vice-President Ahmed Takal.

The centre will train players in Under-9, Under-13, and Under-15 categories, aiming to revive Kismayo’s football legacy. Jubbaland’s Minister for Youth and Sport, Abdirashid Abdirahman Amir, pledged regional support for the project.

This investment in grassroots football comes as Somalia’s U-17 team prepares for the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations, showcasing the country’s rising football ambitions.
