Somalia and Oman Bolster Bilateral Relations in Trade, Investment, and Technology

The Federal Government of Somalia reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening diplomatic and economic ties with the Sultanate of Oman during a high-level meeting held in Mogadishu. Prime Minister H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre welcomed a distinguished Omani delegation led by Eng. Saeed Bin Hamood Bin Saeed Al-Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology.

The discussions centered on deepening collaboration in key sectors, including trade, investment, and technological advancement. Prime Minister Barre underscored Somalia’s strides in economic development and governance, highlighting the vast opportunities for foreign investors, particularly in infrastructure, maritime trade, and technology-driven industries.

Minister Al-Maawali conveyed Oman’s readiness to enhance cooperation with Somalia, acknowledging the country’s notable progress in economic reforms, security improvements, and regional stability. He also commended the Somali government for its ongoing efforts in fostering a conducive business environment that can attract international investment.

This engagement marks a significant step in strengthening the longstanding ties between the two nations, paving the way for increased economic cooperation and mutual development initiatives. Both parties reiterated their commitment to fostering a strategic partnership that promotes sustainable growth and regional prosperity.
